To our Sold4U customers:
After 15 years of running auctions, and almost a year of running both auctions and ACR Liquidations simultaneously, our family has decided to close Sold4U.
We came to this decision slowly, with consideration for our Sold4U customers and the impact it will have on you.
We’re looking forward to concentrating solely on ACR because we know the discounts we offer on groceries and merchandise help our community.
However, we have loved being part of your lives through auctions, and we’re sure gonna miss it.
Some of you participated in practically every auction since we started in 2009. At that time, we had live auctions, with an auctioneer and a gavel. Those of you who were around for it would raise paddles to bid, and Dawn would record winning bids by hand. Auctions would take six or so hours at a stretch, and we’d auction a few hundred items.
That number jumped to thousands when we made the switch to online auctions. It’s amazing we were able to move that much product in and out of Sold4U! It all had to start with sellers trusting us with their stuff. At the beginning, we would round up our personal belongings just to make sure we had items to list. But it didn’t take long before we were always fully booked several auctions in advance, with roughly a hundred sellers per auction.
Many of you sold with us occasionally. Others made a business of doing it every auction. Either way, thank you for choosing us for consignment. We’re grateful for your partnership!
One customer recently told us Sold4U reminded them of an old-fashioned trading post. You could buy, sell, and socialize, all at once!

We ended with over 44,000 bidders. Some of you can brag about having low bidder numbers, only two or three or four digits long! You've seen us through a lot. Many of the business improvements we made over the years came from your suggestions. You came with us when we moved buildings, you came back after Covid, and most recently, you stuck around when we converted one of our auction houses into ACR Liquidations. We got to know you, and you got to know us. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your business.
Some of you found out about us more recently, and were just getting a taste for the addictive nature of auctions when we brought them to an end! We’re sorry to take that pleasure away from you so soon after you joined us.
Auctions were fun. Sometimes sellers would bring us collections they were parting with after years, or even generations, of collecting. It was so cool to see those collections, and to meet other collectors they would attract. We enjoyed the buzz and conversations surrounding those items.
Sometimes we would get a highly collectible item and have no idea of its value until you all started bidding on it! Some of those items were quite a surprise!
Why We Loved Auctions
Many times, Sold4U was all about practical household items changing hands, going from someone who wasn’t using the item anymore to someone else who needed it. It was our joy and privilege to enable those exchanges, to be a place where people in our community could get stuff cheaper than going out to a retail store.
We loved seeing all of you when you were excited to get the items you won on pickup days. We loved hearing what you were most excited about and how you planned to use it. We even loved hearing your disappointment about the items you lost, or hearing that you fell asleep just as the auction was ending, etc etc. We cherished all of those conversations because your enthusiasm for auctions is what kept our business going for fifteen years.

We know some of you will miss Sold4U greatly. At ACR, we don’t sell anything vintage or used. Our products don’t have stories or certificates of authenticity. We don’t have antiques or collectibles.
But there are some similarities between auctions and liquidations. Like at Sold4U, you never know what you’ll find at ACR. We get new shipments of product all the time, and it’s a blast to find out what’s in the boxes.
We’re also committed to offering low prices on everything, usually around half of retail. So just like at Sold4U, you can get a great deal when you shop at our store!
And now that our entire focus will be on ACR, we’ve got some fun ideas to grow and expand the business. Be on the lookout.
